How to Become a Financial Intelligence Officer? A Conversation with Ihor Haievskyi

The Financial Integrity Platform – Young Leaders Chapter continues creating new opportunities for youth development in the field of anti-money laundering.

We held a meeting with Ihor Haievskyi, First Deputy Head of the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine (2017–2024). Our event took the form of an interactive discussion, where each participant had the opportunity to ask the speaker questions and share their thoughts on the topic.

Ihor Haievskyi shared his career journey and personal experience. He emphasised that foreign language proficiency, analytical thinking, attention to detail, perseverance, a willingness to learn, and a solid understanding of finance are essential skills and knowledge for building a successful career in financial intelligence.

The State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine plays a key role in ensuring the country’s financial security, preventing money laundering and terrorist financing, and strengthening international cooperation in financial monitoring. It is crucial for young people to understand these processes, as they impact the country’s economic stability, help create a transparent financial environment, and open up opportunities for ethical business development and career growth in finance and public administration.

During the event, participants also took part in an interactive Kahoot quiz on money laundering prevention and financial intelligence and received prizes.

CFI continues to unite young people and create opportunities for learning and professional development.
