Empowering Women Leaders: Mainstreaming Gender Perspectives in Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) conference

Oksana Ihnatenko, CFI’s Managing Director, shared her insights and presentation on risk indicators and red flags from the perspective of the private sector. Among the key topics addressed in her speech, she particularly highlighted the growing complexity of the risk landscape associated with virtual assets — a challenge that is becoming increasingly relevant to the international community.

Equally important was the discussion on supporting women leaders in the AML/CFT field and integrating gender-specific risk indicators and analytical findings into national risk assessments. This approach contributes to enhancing the effectiveness and inclusivity of strategies, laying the foundation for safer and more resilient financial systems.

Strengthening public–private partnerships remains critically important for effectively addressing emerging threats. In light of the recent establishment of a public–private partnership on virtual assets in the United States, we see a promising model for global cooperation. Such initiatives are essential for establishing transparent standards, enabling intelligence sharing, and enhancing efforts to combat financial crime in this dynamic field.
