

Oksana Ihnatenko is CFI’s Managing Director. Oksana was a Researcher for the Supervising and Monitoring Ukraine’s Reconstruction Funds (SMURF) project at the Centre for Finance & Security at RUSI. Her research examines resilience and integrity of the Ukraine's financial system. In particular, her research focuses on Ukraine's adherence to FATF standards, fighting financial crime, anti-money laundering efforts, and issues surrounding reconstruction. Prior to joining RUSI, Oksana worked in the private sector in Ukraine, law firms in Poland, and the UK. She also had an internship with the Clooney Foundation for Justice working on the investigation of war crimes in Ukraine. Oksana holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Business Law from the London School of Economics. Her dissertation focused on the sanctions regime and legal ways to seize Russian frozen assets to fund Ukraine’s reconstruction.

Vlada Yaremenko is Secretary of the CFI’s Advisory Board. Vlada is a Russia Sanctions Implementation Project Officer at the Centre for Finance & Security at RUSI, managing the portfolio of Russia sanctions projects, including the technical assistance program and Euro SIFMANet (European Sanctions and Illicit Finance Monitoring and Analysis Network). She leads the implementation of workshops and supports outreach to key stakeholders. Prior to joining RUSI, Vlada worked as a Business Development Manager for the Economic Development Corporation of Utah where her focus was on spurring economic growth in the state, concentrating on projects and companies in financial services, aerospace and defence, and manufacturing sectors. She has also worked with young professionals in foreign policy in Washington DC, on projects with the UN and UN Women in the United States, and with a developmental humanitarian NGO in India. Vlada holds a BA (Summa Cum Laude) in International Studies with a minor in Music from the University of Utah and an MSc in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies from the London School of Economics. At LSE, Vlada completed a project with the Disasters Emergency Committee focusing on multipurpose cash assistance in Ukraine.

Anastasiia Okunevych — CFI’s Communications Manager. She is responsible for managing the official website and the organisation’s social media pages, which includes creating, editing, and publishing content. She is also actively involved in organising events. Anastasiia joined the CFI team after participating in the Ideathon on financial crime, organised by the Financial Integrity Platform – Young Leaders Chapter, which gave her the opportunity to intern and become part of the team.

Mark Karandas is an Associate Fellow at CFI. He has practical experience in both state and international financial institutions, including an internship at the National Bank of Ukraine and work in commercial banks. He holds a degree from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and is continuing his education at the London School of Economics. Mark is also engaged in academic research, speaks several foreign languages, and is a member of the Financial Integrity Platform - Young Leaders Chapter.

Dr Daryna Dvornichenko is an Associate Fellow at CFI. She is a Ukrainian scholar and ESRC Regions and Polarities Network+ Fellow at the University of Birmingham, and a Visiting Fellow at St Edmund Hall, University of Oxford. She has previously held research fellowships with the German Marshall Fund of the United States, the University of Wrocław, and King’s College London. A skilled researcher with advanced proficiency in NVivo, R, and data visualization tools, Daryna's work explores the intersections of European integration, economic empowerment in post-crisis and post-conflict contexts, and the role of transparent and accountable governance in promoting inclusive and sustainable development. Daryna serves on the board of the Humans for Rights Network and is a UN Women Delegate to the Commission on the Status of Women.

Marta Popyk is a Research Consultant at CFI. She is a legal and public policy professional with experience in government affairs, spanning from the Office of the President of Ukraine on strategic communication regarding the deportation of Ukrainian children by Russia to energy policy regulation and cross-border donor coordination across Canada and Ukraine. Earlier in her career, Marta worked in both Ukraine’s Parliament and the Canadian House of Commons. Marta holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Oxford. As part of her Master’s degree, Marta worked at RUSI on the financing of Russian sabotage. At CFI, she is exploring active financial measures as part of Russia’s hybrid warfare tactics. A skilled professional with expertise in legal analysis, policy design, and international coordination, Marta’s work focuses on governance, strategic communication, and cross-border policy implementation.
